Freedom Summer
2014 marked the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer, the voter-registration movement that ignited racial tension across the South, and which forms the centerpiece of my debut historical novel, The FOG MACHINE, a semifinalist for the Faulkner-Wisdom Award.

Read Into the Circle: Reflections on 50th Anniversary of Freedom Summer Commemorative Events in MS (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4) on the Andrew Goodman Foundation blog Spark + Flame.

AGF President David Goodman calls The FOG MACHINE a must read for those who want to really understand the granularity of racism even amongst well intentioned people.”
